my first serious poem since high school

Love Actually

It’s in an embrace
after a game my team loses;
A breakfast in bed
at Sunday morning, my sweet.
Thereby resolving a dispute
through a hundred roses,
Or initiating a saccharine pseudo
as passions meet.
It’s in the profound,
and in the mundane;
at hand wherever warm smiles
are gained.
Wrapped in a cookie
given with hope;
it’s enclosed in your letters,
which perpetually help me cope.
It’s in Her,
Jane Austen – read the thousandth time;
Or Shakespeare plays
you’ve learned each and every line.
It’s all in your mom
who wraps you in a hug
Or the puppy who wags his tail
as he gives your pants a tug.

gad, it's been a LONG time since i seriously wrote a poem which i liked. i can't believe i've only kept a few of those i made since high school. :( they're all in my old notebooks stuck in storage at school. waaaahh... another one of my old school's peculiarities: they require our notebooks to be passed at the each end of term and store it up somewhere unknown to us students. yeesh.

btw, this is one of the two poems we had to submit in lit14 for our class portfolio for the end of the sem. i know, it's probably no match compared to my other classmates' profound entries, and i made this just out of the blue (inspired by the movie "love actually" starring hugh grant, hence the title with no originality... so sue me.), but i now find that i quite like it. :)

here's a siomai - to siomai love for you.
now here's a hopia - hopia love me too! ^^;

Awww that's a really good poem. I like it. It's really cute! I haven't seen Love Actually yet but I wanna watch it soon.

Oh, I know... I'm so mad that they kept all our notebooks! I want my Journal back!!!
